Brewer's Hideaway Farm

We will care for the land we have been entrusted with in a way that is respectful to the soil and all who are part of the farm. The qualities of sustainability, recycling, and simplicity help to guide our decisions. Our farm is a place to gather together to celebrate the richness that the Earth gives us.

Its Summer

The past few weeks seem to be flooded by rain and random hot days. Yet the humidity just sticks! As Summer really begins, we farmers go to planning and planting what we need to start for our fall gardens. Recently we have been planting brassicas, all those similar plants like broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage! Yet even as we start planning fall we must keep up with the cucumber and zucchinis that are flooding our tables. So try making some different things; chocolate zucchini cake has been our family tradition. Make PIckles and savor them on grilled burgers and Cucumber salad is a refreshing treat on those hot summer evening.

Wheaties

Well it's our fire time but we are learning harvest wheat! Rachel and I enjoyed the evening sun yesterday as we took to our small plot of wheat. Harvesting with just hands and a sickle!
